By now you’ve heard that Donald Trump, who claims to be the first vegan president, has announced he is leaving the GOP, and he may not have been the only one.
As the Washington Post reported on Friday, the former reality television star and reality TV star is also a vegetarian and is planning to become one himself.
As a vegan, Trump said he will abstain from eating meat, eggs and dairy products.
Trump also said he would eat only vegetarian products, including non-dairy milks, oils and condiments.
This is a significant change from the 2016 Republican presidential nominee, who, at the time, said he “loves steak and will never eat a hamburger.”
He has since changed his tune.
The former reality TV host has been outspoken about animal rights and animal welfare issues in recent months.
In July, Trump declared, “I believe animals deserve the same protection as we do.”
But in November, he was more open about his veganism.
In a tweet, Trump suggested that vegans “are the people that are the problem.”
In December, Trump appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show and said he believed in a world without meat.
“I don’t think people should be eating meat,” he said.
“You know what, I’ve never been a big meat eater.
I’ve always been a meat eater.”
He added, “It’s the most disgusting thing you can ever imagine.”
But the vegans have been getting more than just praise.
A poll released in March by the Humane Society of the United States found that Trump was one of the most prominent and popular vegans in the United Kingdom.
As of March 31, Trump had nearly 5 million followers on Twitter.
In the United Arab Emirates, a group of vegans has been campaigning against the death penalty, as Trump is a member of the UAE Parliament, and they’re planning to hold a rally outside his hotel in Dubai.
And on Monday, a new ad by a group called Mercy for Animals released in the UAE, aired in several American cities, featured footage of Trump, his wife Melania, and Ivanka Trump in a commercial about their veganism and their commitment to animal rights.
The ad says, “We want to show that this is a real person and that it’s not just a campaign slogan.”
